My guiding light is to create experiences that drive tangible, systemic impact. This is a developing repository of projects I’m proud of, diving into the wonderful world of ideas and experiments that have mattered to me.

College to Climate

Brand Strategy & Learning Design

College to Climate spun out of virtual climate meetups that I got to organize with students from across the United States. Our mission: to accelerate more young talent into the climate sector. As its in-house design lead, I worked on curriculum programming for its launchpad cohorts along with the development of multimedia brand materials for the organization’s launch.

Alltruists

Product & Content Marketing

As a Y Combinator-backed startup, Alltruists creates kid-friendly volunteer activity kits that educate, inspire, and make a real impact on the world. Each box is designed in collaboration with nonprofit partners that tackle various social issues, from homelessness to food insecurity.

I worked with serial entrepreneur Jessica Jackley (previous co-founder of Kiva.org) to shape storytelling and brand development—from researching potential target users, launching the company’s blog, and conducting product ideation for Alltruists’s climate change series.

Sigma Eta Pi at USC

Program & Community Management

When I came to USC, I wanted many different things—a home away from home, intellectual pursuits, friends to explore Los Angeles. But specifically, I wanted to learn about entrepreneurship. Joining Sigma Eta Pi allowed me to find all of this, where I first pitched social impact startups and technology solutions at Demo Day competitions.

I later joined its leadership board and came on as its president to lead the community, partnerships, and student-run startup incubator. During my time managing the organization, I facilitated many exciting initiatives: redesigning the incubator experience, bootstrapping on-campus brand marketing, and hosting exclusive workshops with founders, to name a few. It was a true highlight of my college era.

CLEO

Design Strategy & Research

Alaska currently ranks #49 in the United States for K-12 education, and current research points toward its high teacher turnover. Through USC’s Innovation in Engineering and Design program, my team and I set off to investigate this issue at hand, interviewing educators across the greater Alaskan region. From these conversations, we discovered that community integration is a core issue of the teacher experience.

Our team pitched and designed an edtech platform to help teachers better integrate into their assigned district. This guides them to find a strong community and provides greater incentives to stay with their students.

Spectrum

Philanthropy & Program Development

In 2020, I interned as a part of Spectrum's Community Impact team where I researched effective philanthropic programming and employee engagement initiatives. One of my projects involved developing the Spectrum Scholars program.

Spectrum Scholars awards several rising juniors a $20,000 scholarship with the long-term goal of bringing underrepresented communities into the media industry. As the first-ever intern on this inaugural initiative, I designed the end-to-end virtual summit and event experience for future scholars amid the pandemic.

Ami

UX Design & Research

Even after finding a therapist, college students still struggle to find tangible improvements to their mental health goals. This is because many of them do not feel equipped to have important conversations about their mental health in therapy. This leads college students to be highly unsuccessful in therapy, or even end up not seeking it at all.

After conducting both quantitative and qualitative research through our user experience design course, my team and I built Ami: a mental health platform where users can log and record their well-being and work with their therapists to develop long-term actionable plans.

Good City Mentors

Public Relations & Campaign Development

How might we creatively tell the stories of amazing impact-driven organizations?

Good City Mentors is an LA-based nonprofit that partners established professionals and creative brands with local high schools seeking long-term community mentorship. Through USC Annenberg, I was tasked with other peers to develop an end-to-end strategic communications campaign to help Good City Mentors grow media awareness, attract new partner organizations, and raise philanthropic capital.

Homeboy Industries

Program Design & Impact Measurement

I love working with nonprofits—they’re an integral part of how our society facilitates social change, and coupled with innovative programs, can catalyze immense growth.

I had the opportunity to put theory into practice by serving on a grantmaking board and competing to award $10,000 to a local Los Angeles-based nonprofit. For my team, we chose Homeboy Industries, a social enterprise that trains and supports formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated individuals, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.

After hours of research, site visits, and evaluation, we proposed using the $10,000 grant to fund one student’s GED expenses and two graduation ceremonies.
